Online Event - The Eternal Prescription - Part 2

In Part 1 of the The Eternal Prescription we discovered that there is a profound wisdom that is its own life enhancing medicine. This medicine is always accessible to us. We simply need to hone the quality of our awareness.

In exploring Verse 2 of the Tao Te Ching, we dipped into the deeper waters of our experience. Some reflections that emerged from this exploration:

  • How do we cope with tensions in our lives - the space between this and that, highs and lows, sickness and health?

  • How can we rest in equanimity amidst these seeming tensions?

  • What does it mean to act in the world without being overly attached to the fruits of one’s actions? What is the nature of non-action?

  • How can we have it all by letting it all go?

In Part 2 of our journey together, we will examine how we translate the wisdom teachings of the Tao Te Ching into practice. What would life feel and look like if we were living in alignment with the Tao or “The Way”, and how can this serve to nurture a life well lived.

Practice inspires us to connect to what is good, true, and beautiful. It puts us in touch with something we have always known but may be overlooking. It offers us the possibility of a new way of being with ourselves and others. We can spend a lifetime chasing “10,000 things” and never find complete satisfaction. Yet with a slight but radical shift of attention, we turn towards awareness itself, which is what the Tao offers us. This is the new Way of practicing we will explore in the next step of our journey together.
